The app

Your videos and photos stay on your computer

Faceless opens, scans and saves your files on your own computer, and works offline. The videos and photos you open, the faces found in them and the files you save are never sent to us or anyone else.

What the app sends

To know how many people use Faceless, the app sends one small message to our server when it starts, and once a day while it stays open, with:

  1. a random ID, made the first time you run the app;
  2. the platform (Windows);
  3. the app's build number.

The ID is kept in a folder named faceless: in %APPDATA%\faceless. Deleting that folder resets it. Our hosting provider works out your country from your IP address. We don't store your IP address or user agent, and we delete these counts after 40 days. They're never sold or shared.

This website

To know how many people visit, each page view sends one small message to our server with:

  1. a random ID made by your browser the first time you visit, kept in your browser's storage;
  2. the page's address, and the domain of the website that sent you here, if any;
  3. your country, worked out from your IP address by our hosting provider, and your browser, operating system and device type, read from your browser's user agent.

We don't store your IP address or your user agent, we don't use cookies, and we delete these counts after 40 days. They're never sold or shared.
